Intel ARC Alchemist: The Xe-HPG GPU Architecture

Intel-ARC-Slice

Xe Cores are the new fundamental computing units in Intel's portfolio of GPUs. They are optimized for workloads such as professional applications and PC games. Each Xe Core in the Xe HPG GPUs is equipped with a set of 256-bit vector engines that accelerate rasterization calculations. The matrix cores, on the other hand, are designed for AI workloads. Each Xe Core is assigned a ray tracing unit for impressive real-time ray tracing calculations.

Intel-ARC-Scaling

Intel relies on a scalable chip architecture, similar to AMD's chiplet-based approach. The respective sections are connected to each other by a large L2 cache. This memory structure allows the targeted alignment of different slices to obtain a flexibly adaptable structure for different application areas. This design forms the basis for solutions with low power consumption up to gaming powerhouses in the enthusiast class.
